We Are All Equal In the Voting Booth Let the Michigan Florida Delegates Be Seated Make Sure America Wins:
It is a bedrock Democracy principle: we are all equal in the voting booth (and outside it). No matter where we were born or how much money we were born into, no matter the color of our skin or where we worship, our vote deserves to count.
But millions of people in Florida and Michigan who went to the polls aren't being heard. The delegates they elected won't be seated at the Democratic National Convention in Denver this August -- and that's just not fair to those voters, less to speak of brutality to American Democracy.
The people of Michigan and Florida must have a voice in selecting our nominee for president. The Americans have repeatedly called for seating their delegates.
Democracy of America is at stake. Please make sure it is held in high esteem, as always. Let the delegates of Michigan and Florida be seated. Make sure America wins.

Notes:
Formed on the auspicious birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him and his family] Rabi ul Awwal 12, 1429 ME, Friday March 21 2008, Muslim Democracy League is the new and upcoming political forum and thinktank of Pakistan, contributing knowledge, consultation and insight related to promotion of faith based consensus democracy in Pakistan.
The norms and assumptions that characterise belief and action in Islam have their initial inspiration in two foundation sources. One is the message revealed by God to the Holy Prophet [peace be upon him and his family] and recorded in Quran. The second is Sunnah, the recording of the Prophet's life, his words, actions and habits, his character, struggle, piety, modesty and success that has come in time to represent for Muslims, a timeless pattern for daily life. And this is true both for the state and the individual. Accordingly, Muslim Democracy League supports to enhance theological and political consensus among different parties, forums and stake holders for the smooth working of good governance in Pakistan. Muslim Democracy League is the continuation of the original theme and format of Muslim League [1906] and facilitates collaboration between people, civil society and government to address some of the development needs of the people of Pakistan today, and seeks to build confidence between West and Muslims.
Muslim Democracy League works to historically deliver, so to speak about civil society and democracy, knowledge and learning, health, housing and economy, technology, industry and commerce, heritage and environment, alleviation of the sufferings of the poor, the sick and the needy, women emancipation and good governance, theological and political consensus, protection and welfare of minorities, support for responsible media, independence of judiciary, indigenous rule of the people, dignity and integrity of the government, Muslim Caliphate, Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Islamic ethics of discipline, tolerance, knowledge, development, pluralism, interfaith harmony and global peace.

Ⅰam submitting a copy of a letter I sent to the editor of a local newspaper. I hope someone in your organization will take time to read it. I do not pretend to be an expert, but I believe my idea merits consideration.

Dear Mr. Larsen,
I find it ironic that discussion of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for years with no resolution in sight, whereas the construction of man-made islands and exotic buildings in Dubai have progressed to the point where MSNBC spent a great deal of time last week extolling their virtues. The Dubai project has been in existence for just a few years. These are two issues that I presented for your consideration in my proposed "Sound Off" article seen below.
When Representative Rick Larsen held a Town Meeting in Oak Harbor prior to the 2006 election, I presented a one-page paper suggesting the same "land creation" scheme. I even had the opportunity to read it aloud, but the moment I said, "Roadmap to Peace", I think he went into the re-election mode, patting me on the head verbally and assuring me the Democratic members of Congress were fully supportive of "that effort". This is the same Rick Larsen who, I discovered recently, chose not to attend the joint session of Congress at which King Abdullah of Jordan spoke on March 7, 2007.
Early in 2007, I sent a "Members Memo" to Maryknoll Magazine (the publication of a Catholic missionary organization) with my "land creation" proposal. They saw fit to publish my letter, labelling it a "possible solution" to the Israeli-Palestinian problem. How's that for irony? The only people I can reach are those working to promote peace through religion! The politicians whose job it is to protect this country have turned a deaf ear to my proposal.
A large percentage of your readership is located in Oak Harbor, home of the Naval Air Station where we prepare many of our young military to deploy to the "meat grinder" of occupied Iraq. Once again, it is ironic that we keep expending lives in that country when the answer to terrorism is not more weapons. I wish you would get yourself a copy of "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson (I have a copy I would be happy to lend you). He is building schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan, providing an alternative to the madrassas where young terrorists are trained. That is how we will win the hearts and minds of our current adversaries, not by bombing them and kicking-in doors.
Thank you for taking time to read this letter.

Proposed "Sound Off" Article: Peace in the Middle East
On March 7, 2007, King Abdullah of Jordan made a speech to a joint session of Congress in which he said the key to peace in the Middle East lies in a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem. (I am fairly certain my Senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell were present at that session.) This was seven years into the "War on Terrorism" in which we have been embroiled in Afghanistan and Iraq. During the week of February 3, 2008, Secretary of Defense Gates testified to the Senate that military action alone will not solve the problems we face in Afghanistan and Iraq. It would seem that those in charge recognize it is time for a different strategy. Perhaps they will be receptive to some NEW ideas.
The conflict in Israel stems from the fact that the United Nations established that nation in 1948 without adequate consideration for the people who previously resided in Palestine. The U N could go a long way toward resolving that conflict by "CREATING" additional land to house the Palestinians. The Roadmap to Peace I envision would depict a Palestine consisting of the West Bank territories connected by an elevated roadway across Israeli land to a Gaza Strip doubled in area by a landfill extending into the Mediterranean Sea. A causeway would extend from the existing Gaza shoreline a sufficient distance to allow retention of facilities now in use and the landfill created. The United States should propose the project in the U N, silencing the fanatics who claim we oppose Islam. Labor would be provided from the scores of Palestinians who are without work and are drawn to attacks against Israel. The new land would be free from prior claims based on biblical/historical/cultural bases. The landfill would incorporate desalinization plants to provide fresh water. Pipelines mounted on the elevated roadway could carry some of the water to be distributed to the Israelis on whose property the roadway rests, in compensation for the use of their land. The cost of this effort would pale in comparison with the loss of lives and money spent on weapons in the current conflict.
"Modern Marvels" on the History Channel show how the St Lawrence Seaway was constructed in five years, requiring the removal of millions of cubic feet of earth. The Alaskan Highway was built in one year during World War II, a monstrous effort under terrible conditions. The Netherlands expanded their area using landfills and dikes nearly a century ago, utilizing manual labor and methods which have since been greatly improved. Surely, peace in the Holy Land should be worth a similar effort, but what do we see instead? The Palm Islands in Dubai are being built to house the rich so they can moor their million-dollar yachts outside their door. This project is being funded from the petrodollars we are pumping into the Middle East. It is not a question of feasibility to help the Palestinians, it is a matter of having the will to do so.
In closing, I would like to add another thought. The Israelis are encroaching into the West Bank territories due to the pressure of increasing population. Why could they not extend into the Mediterranean as well? I think Allah/God/Jehovah/Yahweh must be shaking His head over the futile efforts undertaken to resolve the conflict when the answer lies before our eyes. Could this be the reason the western border of Israel is the shore of the Mediterranean?
